Chapter 1.1 -- Re-prioritizing

As time went on, Byron spent most of his free time researching to improve both his cooking and business skills. He had already received a promotion at the local diner, but he still had his hopes set on owning a top scale restaurant. Making just above minimum wage wasn't cutting it; he and Hailee had set their hopes on raising a full house but as it stands, they can't even pay their bills.

Hailee's garden was expanding rapidly, both in quantity and in height. She had taken a day or two to scavenge the desert oasis for seeds and her efforts had definitely paid off.

Eventually, her garden began to bear fruit, and with their restaurant still out of reach, Hailee set off to the consignment store to sell her crop. The owner wasn't too keen on selling produce, but once the city had gotten their hands on it, they went wild. Her fruit was flying off the shelves and making her a pretty penny.

Finally seeing some return on their investments, Byron and Hailee decided to start their family that night.

Sure enough, as Hailee expanded her garden even more, so did her tummy expand. Drastically in fact.

When the due date came, the Summit family welcomed two beautiful daughters into their world: Tailyn.

And Abella.

With the family doubled in size, Hailee and Byron had to work extra hard to make their payments. At the end of the day when they were exhausted and wanted nothing more than to sleep, they still made time for their girls.

Byron in particular realized nothing meant more to him than his children. Not even his lifelong dream. He'd put anything on hold for them.

    1. I had a lot of fun finding the perfect color for her---not to mention the designs. When I got to Byron I was all CAS-ed out so he's just normal xD

      Thanks for reading!

  2. You come up with the best names! Tailyn is just awesome!

Well, I really hope I was wrong about the rabbithole rugs, do let me know how that goes. I saw a few people saying they had crashes using them after SHT, and I didn't have use for them at the time to bother testing it. Hopefully they still work!

    1. Thanks! What I like to do is pick a name I like and alter it into an uncommon or new name. I started doing that once I discovered the "Get creative with [insert name here]" link on any names page on thinkbabynames.com. Truth be told though, Tailyn was a combination of my brother's nickname "Tail" and my mother's middle name "Lynn".

I haven't experimented with the rugs and doors yet as my family's funds aren't high enough, but once I do, I'll be building in a fresh copy of Lucky Palms JIC it does crash. If it does, then I'll just go the basement rabbithole route I suppose.
